Native Plant Nursery Serving Washington Landscapes
Storm Lake Growers is a second-generation wholesale nursery rooted in decades of expertise cultivating high-quality native plants for the Pacific Northwest. Founded in 1978 by Dan McCain with a single greenhouse, we have grown into a trusted source for genetically diverse native trees, shrubs, wetland plants, and ornamentals. Our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship drives every aspect of our work, from reforestation projects to community outreach initiatives. With over 150 plant species naturally adapted to regional ecosystems, we serve landscape contractors, government agencies, and environmental organizations across Washington. Our team combines deep horticultural knowledge with personalized service, offering contract growing options and specialized plant solutions for projects ranging from wetland restoration to urban landscaping.

As stewards of both land and community, we actively support local events, educational programs, and conservation partnerships that strengthen ecological resilience. Our nursery's relocation to a larger Monroe site in 2006 reflects our ongoing dedication to meeting evolving industry needs while maintaining the integrity of our founding values. Every plant we grow embodies our philosophy of nurturing relationships and fostering healthier landscapes through responsible growing practices.

Native Plant Nursery
We cultivate over 150 native Pacific Northwest species including trees, shrubs, wetland vegetation, and ornamentals. Our container-grown plants range from 4-inch pots to balled-and-burlapped specimens, supporting diverse landscaping and restoration needs. With decades of horticultural expertise, we ensure genetic diversity and regional adaptation in every plant we grow.
Wetland Restoration
Our native vegetation supports wetland mitigation projects across Western Washington. We provide emergent wetland plants and technical expertise for stream bank stabilization, salmon habitat restoration, and water quality improvement initiatives. Our plants are specifically adapted to thrive in regional wetland conditions.
Contract Growing
We offer specialized plant production for unique project requirements. Our contract growing services ensure clients receive specific species, sizes, and quantities tailored to large-scale landscaping or restoration projects. This includes hard-to-source native vegetation and custom propagation.
Erosion Control
Our deep-rooted native plants prevent soil erosion along riverbanks and slopes. We supply vegetation for highway corridors, creek restoration, and watershed protection projects. These plants establish quickly to stabilize disturbed soils while supporting local ecosystems.
Ecological Landscaping
We provide native plant solutions for parks, business parks, and residential developments. Our selections create low-maintenance, drought-resistant landscapes that support local wildlife and pollinators while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
