Ask us about flowers and we'll tell you, enthusiastically, why they matter. How they give us the chance to bring nature right into our homes. How they connect us to the people we care about, creating a memory we can return to again and again. How they're there when we graduate, marry, have kids, start a new business, move away, move in, fall ill, lose our loved ones. Name a meaningful event in your life and we'll tell you how flowers played a part. It's not just lip service for us. We're known for long lasting, premium quality, fresh cut flowers and plants grown from our very own greenhouses.

We got our start in 1933, a true family-run shop with two brothers, Tom and Jim Curran, at the helm. In the 40s, the brothers shuttled two greenhouses from their spot on Pickering to Park Street. There they grew popular cut flowers like carnations and calla lilies along with seasonal plants and outdoor bedding ones. From the beginning, Currans was devoted to sourcing locally, enriching our own crop of offerings with flowers from local growers like Bert McDermott, who produced nearly 50,000 gladioli on his Danvers farm.

You could call our greenhouses the bedrock of Currans. They were there from the beginning, supplying us with so much of what we are known for, from summer planting bed products to hanging baskets. Seasonality drives our offerings, but we offer top quality plants all year long, from big, bright tulips and clouds of hydrangea to moss baskets, mums and endless rows of poinsettia. Our four greenhouses are presided over by our veteran grower, Tim Martens, and his knowledgeable team. Pick your plants out from two of the greenhouses yourself or see what's cropped up in the shop.

Currans has been decorating residential and commercial exteriors and common areas of all sizes with seasonal designs for years. With an experienced staff led now by Wally Orechia, a local expert in plantscape installation, we are poised to make your home or office the talk of the town. Currans specific focus is in making your outdoor containers look amazing in all seasons. In the spring, summer, and autumn months we will take our own locally grown plants and create planters that will require little more than water to look amazing all season.
