Lot clearing is the process of removing trees, stumps, brush, stones and other obstacles from an area as required to increase the size of the crop producing land base of an existing farm or to provide land for a new farm operation. Tree removal means to cut down the tree, take it away, and usually, remove the stump from the ground. Tree trimming means to cut off parts of some of the tree branches to improve the tree's health, shape, light penetration, or fruit/flowering. Tree pruning may be necessary to maintain a tree in a safe condition, to remove dead branches, to promote growth, to regulate size and shape or to improve the quality of flowers, fruit or timber.
