Texas: Dec. 22, 2020 -- The Smithville City Council in December 2019 approved a 25-year power purchase agreement with Go Big Solar to purchase power it generates at 5.6 cents per kilowatt hour with a 2% escalator for the first 10 years. In year 11, the rate would be frozen at 6.7 cents per kilowatt hour.
New York: Dec 17, 2020 -- The Saugerties Central School District’s $22 million capital improvement project bond, which will pay for needed repairs and upgrades at all the district’s schools, passed overwhelmingly by a vote of 849-260.
North Carolina: Dec 16, 2020 -- Lexington City Schools recently started a GESPC with Schneider Electric that will improve energy efficiency and enhance comfort in learning environments and the implementation of STEM learning programs. The project is expected to save the school district more than $5 million in energy costs over the next 19 years.
National: December 16, 2020 -- The National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO) today announces its membership has elected Michael Perna as the new chair of its Board of Directors. In this role, Perna will lead the Board of Directors in stewarding NAESCO’s key objectives, advocating on behalf of NAESCO members and supporting forthcoming initiatives as the ESCO industry looks toward the new year. Michael is Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Con Edison Clean Energy Businesses
New York: Dec 15, 2020 -- The Southampton Board of Education on December 15, gave the greenlight to move forward with a nearly $3.2 million GESPC project with Energy Systems Group.
