The main purpose of the garden is to teach horticultural skills, healthy eating, life skills, non-traditional employment, and business skills to local low-income community residents. Wow! 144 beautiful heads of lettuce and more swiss chard went to Foodshare this week. The bed is now mostly replanted additional tomatoes which I will get in on my day tomorrow. Thanks to the volunteers for growing, harvesting, and moving this much needed produce to fill food banks in the area.
