Welcome to the North Georgia office of Rid-A-Critter, Inc., one of the most well-established and best-equipped regional wildlife management companies in the region. Rid-A-Critter was founded in 2001 to bring a fresh, environmentally enlightened, and scientific approach to nuisance animal control and wildlife management. We have grown to become one of the region's largest wildlife management companies. We have built our reputation by providing high quality, professional, environmentally sound, and humane animal control, along with business practices that have earned us the Better Business Bureau's highest rating and the coveted TrustDale Certification.

Squirrels are furry rodents who are more closely related to rats than any self-respecting squirrel is willing to admit. The most common squirrels in our area are the gray squirrel and the flying squirrel. Both of these critters spend much of their time in trees, attics, and other high places, but there are some differences. In North Georgia, gray squirrel removal is in demand pretty much all year. The demand usually peaks in the fall and winter, however, and there's usually a short lull during June and July when the squirrels tend to stay outdoors.

It's been said that if you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door, and there's a lot of history to back up that saying. Mice have been pests of humankind for all of recorded history, and mouse control is one of the most in-demand services provided by exterminators throughout the world. People have been trying to keep mice out of their homes and businesses pretty much forever. In North Georgia (and in most places), mouse control in urban areas is most in demand in the fall and early winter, when mice and rats start looking for warm, cozy places to spend the cooler months.

Snakes are reptiles belonging to the suborder Serpentes. They are found in most parts of the world, but like cold-blooded animals in general, snakes are especially common in warm climates like those of our Georgia service area. Humane snake removal and control is one of our most in-demand summer wildlife control services. Like all cold-blooded animals, snakes become more active as the temperature increases; so we get a lot of hits on our site for the search term "snake exterminators in Georgia" during the warmer months.

This page is an ongoing collection of pictures of our Animal Control technicians at work, and is dedicated to their loyalty, skill, dedication, and hard work. Our animal control crew is distributed throughought our service area. Wildlife control is difficult, sometimes dangerous work, and it takes a special kind of professional to do it right. Animal Control Technicians also need extensive education and in-depth knowledge of the biology and habits of every animal they work with in order to be able to catch and release it unharmed, if at all possible.

Rid-A-Critter is North Georgia's pest bird control leader. We provide safe, non-chemical, humane bird control, nuisance bird removal, and bird exclusion ("bird-proofing"), at reasonable cost, throughout Northern and Central Georgia. As the region's leader in humane bird control, Rid-A-Critter has the skill, the know-how, and all the equipment to handle any bird control job -- no matter how big or how small. We can bird-proof virtually any building of any size ranging from private homes, to the steeples of historic churches, to huge power generating facilities.

When animals like bats, raccoons, roof rats, gray squirrels, or flying squirrels get into an attic, they contaminate the insulation with urine, feces, shed fur, parasites and other contaminants. Unless the insulation is removed, these disease-causing contaminants will contaminate your home literally forever, creating an unhealthful condition that remains long after the animals are gone. Disease-causing organisms associated with animal wastes can get into the living area of a house by riding air currents, or they can literally be pumped throughout a house that has hot-air heat or central air conditioning installed in the attic.
