Fleis & VandenBrink (F&V) is a full-service, multi-disciplined engineering and architecture firm assisting clients throughout Michigan and Indiana with award-winning design services. Our team collaborates with you to deliver unique, creative, and innovative projects. With nine offices and 225 professionals, we are here to transform your vision into reality. Experience the difference of great communication, reliable resources, and passionate people with F&V that will put your project at ease, on-time and on-budget.

The architects at F&V design creative, tangible solutions and spaces for living, working, and playing. Our approach to architectural design is to collaborate with you and understand your needs and goals. Once we have determined how your desired layout shall be used, we will design your vision into reality. From the earliest stages of schematic design through construction administration, we take pride in defining spaces and environments. We believe in creating character and producing emotions for every project.

F&V's structural engineers improve the performance of buildings, bridges, towers, and other structures to safely resist the forces to which they are subjected. Our goal is to produce structures that are safe, aesthetically pleasing and sustainable, yet cost-effective. Most of the structures we work on are used on a daily basis for linking communities, such as providing clean drinking water, protecting the environment and providing space for municipal governance and operations. Our work helps to transform inadequate sites and structures into opportunities for development or redevelopment.

F&V provides proper technical code, compliant design, and power distribution to help meet the electrical requirements of your project. Our approach to electrical engineering aims to increase your project's reliability through the monitoring of systems, plants and stations, and efficiency through instrumentation. Reliability and efficiency are pursued through cost-saving methods and latest technologies that fit in line with your project goals and needs. We analyze your electrical system to help identify potential problems before issues flare up.

Scientists and engineers at F&V have experience designing, building, operating, upgrading, and maintaining water and wastewater treatment plants and facilities to protect human health and the environment, and to safely and efficiently deliver clean water to its users. Our approach is to understand and assess your community's water and/or wastewater treatment needs. We look at different sources and the latest regulatory requirements and trends to solve your problem quickly, efficiently, and environmentally.

F&V designs and upgrades your plumbing infrastructure systems to provide comfortable, reliable, and energy-efficient spaces - and a better world environment. Our approach to process mechanical design engineering is to understand your building's system infrastructure and find ways to make your building more comfortable and offer a payback to you in money and energy savings. We take into account client requirements and goals, budget concerns, energy usage, and maintenance requirements to enhance efficiency.

F&V's sister company, F&V Construction (FVC), provides construction services from project inception through turn-key delivery. Our approach to construction services and their management is to be a designer-led firm. Through our affiliation with F&V, FVC provides single-source responsibility for your project from the beginning. Being single-source means the owner has a single point-of-contact, thereby enhancing communication and collaboration throughout the entire project. Since the professional design team is in-house, we can easily resolve problems or issues without affecting the schedule or budget.

A landscape architect at F&V blends art, science and technology to inspire meaningful change to the environments in which we exist. Our designs are meant to be experienced. That's why our approach is a collaboration between our landscape architect, you and your end users to create a valuable, aesthetic, safe, and enjoyable environment based on your goals and needs. When environments are able to be experienced, your community is brought together. Whether it's a splash pad park for the young and young at heart or a community park with a "living classroom, " our architects have the experience to integrate products and natural materials into a harmonious site development that's appealing, accessible, and affable.

Nearly 90% of our work comes from repeat clients. Why? Because we've listened to what our clients are saying, and have continued to expand our expertise to better meet those needs. If we haven't already, we would love to show you why our clients keep coming back. Browse our diverse range of civil engineering services below.

The civil engineers, architects, and landscape architects at F&V have the experience and creativity to enhance the quality of life in your community. Our approach to municipal engineering is to be an extension of your staff, providing our knowledge as the backbone to making your project a reality. From concept to grant funding to construction, we're there listening and responding to you. Whether we're designing a trail, building public roads and infrastructure, or designing a wastewater plant, we work with you to create and enhance the fabric of your community.

Land surveying at F&V provides answers to the 'what' and 'where' questions of your project - whether it's a site development, private property, or infrastructure and utility improvement project. We gather information using a mixture of surveying techniques and equipment to deliver data in the required format accurately and timely - laying the foundation for a successful project. Our approach to land surveying is to first and foremost understand your immediate and long-term goals and needs. We look at projects from today's 'immediate' perspective as well as tomorrow's 'what's next.'

F&V assists communities, private residents, and businesses with safe, cost-effective, and low-maintenance solutions for high water, flooding, and erosion issues. With historical high water on the Great Lakes, we have the knowledge and resources available to minimize disruption and impacts to your infrastructure and private properties. Our approach is to physically check out your property and become familiar with your issues and concerns. We then provide a topographic survey of the shoreline, including the lakebed, water surface elevation, and existing land structures.

F&V has experienced demolition management staff to help transform blighted, abandoned, and obsolete buildings into productive community assets. Often, these deteriorated buildings are sources of lost property tax revenue, vandalism, safety concerns, and just plain eyesores. They are frequently located in key areas that could be put back into productive use, giving new tax base, jobs or public greenspace for the community to enjoy. Our approach to these transformations is through detailed planning and management.
