This size is for Grid Tied systems. For Standalone or Off-Grid the rule of thumb is 1.5 times the Grid Tied kW size is required. All roof pitches are solar potential. In northern states that experience much snow, higher winter angles are optimal to shed snow from solar panels. Ideal tilt angles are at latitude for winter and latitude minus 15 degree for summer.
