While implosions represent the most visible face of demolition, they are only a relatively small portion of the total work of the industry. From structural demolition and dismantlement to industrial recovery and C&D recycling, from specialized rigging and landfilling to insurance services and equipment manufacturing, from general contracting and architectural salvage to facilities decontamination, asbestos abatement and nuclear clean-up, the demolition process involves an unimaginable breadth of products and services to meet the needs of our clients and the community.

The Demolition Industry plays a major role in helping communities to reimagine, rebuild, and reinhabit the spaces all around them. Working alongside preservationists, city officials and community organizers, the Demolition Industry helps to rebuild and revitalize entire neighborhoods. We clear burned-out buildings that have sat vacant for years and make space for parks and public spaces. We take down condemned buildings and safety hazards so that new communities can rise up in their place. Demolition experts can often salvage the structural integrity of historic buildings have been damaged by fire or decay.

NDA is proud to present eleven scholarships to up-and-coming demolition professionals. These scholarship opportunities are awarded to an immediate family member of an owner or employee of a Regular Member company of NDA to provide support in the advancement of their career through continuing education opportunities.

The Demolition Industry is continually making way for growth, revitalization and historic renovation around the world. Though demolition is an important part of the life of our cities and neighborhoods, most people don't know very much about how demolition works. That's okay because we love telling people about what we do. Call or email us anytime if you have questions! Demolition Process - the practices that make up the demolition, dismantlement, deconstruction, removal, recycling, salvage, reuse, transfer or disposal of buildings, structures and their components.

The National Demolition Association established the National Demolition Association Hall of Fame Program to recognize and honor elite industry leaders whose commitment, ingenuity, and devotion have significantly impacted the demolition industry and our member companies. While the Lifetime Achivement Award focuses on the body of work of a member in the industry over the course of a lifetime, the Hall of Fame award is designed to honor professionals who have contributed significantly to the profession, but are not necessarily eligible for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Nine standing committees serve the National Demolition Association. These committees provide a space for discussion of key demolition industry concerns. It is through these committees that NDA members exchange information and ideas, provide guidance to the association, and develop programs and tools to meet the needs of our members and the industry at large. 2020/2021 Call for Volunteers is now closed. Most NDA committees are open to all NDA members whose companies are in good standing. Applications are reviewed and approved at the Annual Convetion.

The NDA Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a member selected for their exceptional service to NDA and to the Industry. This award honors members for their leadership and commitment to NDA's organizational vision and mission, and pays tribute to the individual's commitment to the betterment of their community, the company they work for, and to the demolition industry as a whole. Any NDA member can be nominated for this award. Congratulations to our 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, Jon A. Manafort of Manafort Brothers Incorporated!
