Serving more than 9,000 students annually - from 4-year-olds to centenarians, from neophytes to professionals - the Gilda and Henry Block School of the Arts brings eager learners of all backgrounds together in the heart of New York City. Whether taking a class, participating in a workshop or attending one of our dance performances, concerts or online events, people of all ages can gather here to get inspired and create under the guidance of internationally renowned artists, musicians, craftspeople and dancers.
Come take a tour! Just call 212.415.5565. When you come by, you'll find studios equipped with 25 electric potters' wheels, a gas reduction kiln and three electric kilns. During the fall and spring terms you'll have the opportunity to take classes using stoneware, and in the summer months porcelain is the material of choice. All work is glaze-fired to cone 10. Clay is included in the cost of tuition (unless you use bagged clay, which may be purchased for $20 per 25-pound bag). Firing charge is five cents per cubic inch for two firings for all work made in classes and workshops.
Programs, prices and dates are subject to change. There are no refunds unless 92Y cancels an event. If you are unable to use your tickets, you may turn them in to the Box Office up to three hours prior to performance as a tax-deductible contribution. In the case of a postponed or rescheduled event, 92Y is not required to offer refunds if the event is rescheduled within 12 months of the original date. No cash refunds. 92Y reserves the right to cancel classes and workshops and to change scheduling.
The Warburg Lounge, located immediately off of 92Y's main lobby. During the day, the room floods with natural light from the windows overlooking both Lexington Avenue and 92nd street. In the evening, guests are seated beneath majestic chandeliers. Technical labor costs are additional and are quoted per event based on your technical needs.
