Cherokee Construction Services, founded in 2003, is an 8(a) Native American general construction firm based in Washington. No matter what the project delivery method, we take a partnering approach in the process of designing and building a project to meet our clients' desired objectives. Construction is an art and a science, requiring ingenuity, leadership and consummate communication skills. At Cherokee, we strive to leverage our expertise and experience to bring best value while enriching relationships.
There has been some confusion in the marketplace about "Who is Cherokee?" Many of you may be familiar with my background - and that of the Herschell family's - in the construction industry. My parents, Rhonda and Vince Herschell, founded Cherokee General Construction in 1985. They were instrumental in helping me develop my vision for a new company - Cherokee Construction Services. I am grateful for their mentorship in those early years! I launched Cherokee Construction Services (CCS) in 2003. We started small - with a focus on delivering top level environmental construction services.
Managing member Paul Herschell started Cherokee Construction Services in 2003 after years of exposure to the industry through the Herschell-owned company, Cherokee General Corporation. Paul first entered the business working summers and weekends during high school and college. This "ground-up" hands-on education and mentoring has given Paul the experience to manage every facet of a full-service construction firm. From its inception, even prior to Rhonda and Vince Herschell's retirement and sale of Cherokee General Corporation, Cherokee Construction Services has been and continues to be an independently run and standalone company focused on being value driven, customer oriented and versatile.
