The Carpenter Art Garden

Carpenter Art Garden is a non-profit organization dedicated to working with the children of Binghampton to promote each one's creativity and self-worth through exposure to artistic, educational, and vocational programs. We partner with the Binghampton community to develop and implement vibrant programs that cultivate creativity, a love of learning, relationship-building, leadership, and neighborhood pride. Our Grizzlies yard hearts are a local phenomenon. Invented by Art Garden member, Dont, you can see these symbols of local pride, love, and hope in yards all over Memphis.

Over the next few years, a growing number of passionate neighborhood residents, Memphis artists, and generous volunteers joined us to build a safe haven dedicated to helping kids in Binghampton create their best futures. Our commitment to listening and responding to the needs, ideas, and dreams of Binghampton children and adults helped us grow into the vibrant community we are today. The Art Garden provides free year round arts, educational, and vocational programs in eight beautiful spaces along Carpenter Street.
