Wire fence is often an important ingredient in creating a fence that is secure and able to meet swimming pool codes. Many fences, such as post and rail (in both vinyl and wood) will not satisfy the requirements for a swimming pool fence enclosure unless wire is attached. Wire fence is legal for swimming pools if the opening is 1-1/2" wide by 4" high and the wire is 4 ft high and is installed on the outside of the fence.
