Aecon's predecessor companies include some of Canada's most renowned construction names. Over the years, companies such as The Foundation Company of Canada, Jackson Lewis, Lockerbie and Hole, Banister Pipelines, Nicholls-Radtke, Pitts Engineering Construction, and Armbro have come together to form what we now know as Aecon. The 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydroelectric Project, located in Kinnaur and Shimla Districts of Himachal Pradesh, was a run-of-the river type development, proposed to harness hydroelectric potential of the upper reaches of the river Satluj.
