Thoughtful Craftsmen has been working on the homes of the Eastside and near-North Shore since 1998, specializing in restoring wood siding, fixing original details, rebuilding porches and returning homes to their long-lost splendor. We fell in love with the old homes of the area and their often-neglected details and connective tissue and decided to make this demanding sort of restoration our specialty! The phrase "thoughtful craftsmen" could not be more accurate to describe their work. Because it was so obvious they care deeply about doing a job well, thoroughly, efficiently, and with the nature of the home firmly in mind.
Known for nearly two decades as Community Building and Restoration, we have renamed ourselves Thoughtful Craftsmen to acknowledge our focus on the craft of old home restoration. But we are still the same company, with key parts of the same team working consistently on homes of the Eastside, near-North Shore and elsewhere within our region for over 20 years. Growing from the passion of the founder, Erik Lindberg, we began by rebuilding porches, installing roofs, and performing architecturally appropriate remodeling on Pre-WWII homes, whether modest or grand.
Whether you have wood storms and screens that need to be switched over seasonally or aluminum combination storms, they probably don't quite hit the mark. They work like the common aluminum ones, only much better with a simpler and smoother track system. Each window has a fixed screen on the bottom, a fixed glass pane on the top, and a movable glass panel that slides up and down for ventilation/ weatherproofing. Very handsome and sharp! These beauties look almost identical to your home's original storms and screens.
