Vincent (Vince) Verdecchio traveled from Italy to the United States in the early 1900's bringing with him the skills of a master tradesman. He soon started his own masonry company which grew to become a well known construction company with over 40 employees. After serving in the armed forces in WWII, his son Albert (Al) Verdecchio joined the company as a partner. Soon after, Vince changed the family name to Verdes to "Americanize our name". Al Verdes continued the company's immense success and in the process raised four healthy children.
