I was just ten years old back in 1990 when I started my first lawn care business. With some help from my dad, I created flyers for Hickory Lake Lawn Service and distributed them throughout my neighborhood. Working after school and on weekends, my business steadily grew and by the age of sixteen I owned my own truck, trailer, and commercial lawn mower. Through high school, my client base continued to expand as I balanced after school grass cutting with academic studies. During the summer months, I also worked for a local landscape construction company in order to gain additional experience and a better understanding for how a professional landscape business operates.
