The focus of the company has changed a few times, always responding to variations in the market and economy while staying true to company values. In 1999, JLS began to phase out the residential sector of the business in order to focus on what they do best. This transition took about 18 months. Forty-five years later, JLS has streamlined its services, now servicing exclusively commercial and shopping center clients. In the early 2000s, JLS continued to improve and made a concerted effort to grow the snow removal side in an effort to maintain revenue and retain staff through the winter months.
