DUMP STICKERS: FYI......the Board of Selectmen adopted a date change of effectiveness for Transfer Station Permits (aka Dump stickers) to October 1st. Therefore, your current sticker which is about to expire at the end of the month is now good till October 1st. 9:00PM CAUTION!!!! ROAD CONDITIONS UPDATE: We’ve been getting notified of some black ice conditions around town with falling temperatures. Please drive extra cautiously while we assess the situation and respond accordingly. Trucks will be rolling out to spot treat main roadways momentarily. Please keep your speeds down and expect the unexpected. Particularly on side streets and roadways that may not have drained off properly due to snow banks or blocked catches basins. Be careful and be safe.
ROADS UPDATE 9:00PM 2/19/21: PLOWING has begun in the Town of Salem. With the end in site and with over 24+ hours of continuous snow it has built up to point of plowing it off and cleaning it up. Please don’t park in the street as the crews would like to clean everything up quickly. They’re pretty beat with this long lasting event but they will get it done as always. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding that in long durations like this it’s often difficult to keep the roads
ROADS UPDATE 5:00PM 2/19/21: Roadways are beginning to coat over with dusk upon us. We’ve been monitoring roadways and noticed that people are definitely driving a bit to fast for these conditions. Please slow down and arrive alive. We are treating main roadways as of right now but you must maintain reasonable breaking distance and speed.
