The Wallcovering Installers Association (WIA), formerly known as the National Guild of Professional Paperhangers (NGPP), was founded in 1974. Since then, tools, techniques, supplies and wallcovering materials have changed enormously. But, the mission of the professional paperhanger has remained constant: to get the most from the materials on hand on behalf of the client. The WIA was born in a different world. It was a time when members huddled together like early Christians, often holding meetings in their homes - a time when chapter newsletters announced holiday dinner dances with live music and dancing - a time when "networking" meant ABC, CBS and NBC.

Remember you can't be recognized if you don't enter! Press releases with recipient information and photographs are sent to multiple national magazines for publishing. Wouldn't it be great for your future customers to see your name in a national magazine? This is a great way to promote the professional installer as well as the wallcovering industry. The deadline to submit an entry is April 1, 2021. Winners will be announced at the Craftsmanship Awards Luncheon, during the Wallcovering Installers Convention.

Change never rests! For 40 years, our association of professional wallcovering installers has been known as the National Guild of Professional Paperhangers (NGGP). But context and time often reveal the need to make adjustments. We have grown to become an international association. As the term "paperhanger" was rapidly falling out of fashion, we listened to the professional marketing consultants and the public. We have changed our organizational name which reflects a modern mindset. Thus, the Wallcovering Installers Association (WIA) is born of the same lineage we have maintained with the NGPP for these many decades.

Looking forward to Anstey Wallpapers first visit to the WIA in Denver Colorado USA.Meeting many experienced decorators and Wallpaper traditionalists. Wonderful people in a fantastic location.
