We collaborated on this special place with it's owners who wanted to build a flourishing environment for the life of the mind. The shop invites patrons to imagine, linger and question their world. Inspired by simple but eclectic Scandinavian interiors, the shop became a mix of neutrals and vibrant pops of color with pieces from artisans near-and-far. Salt & Water believes that beauty and the pursuit of it, both within ourselves and others, is a cause worthy of a dedicated passion and space. Their retail, treatment, and workshop space is a mixture of masculine and feminine touches within the strong and industrial space that once used to house film for Paramount Film Company.
Simply put, Sara Kate Studios sees life in the little things. We treasure the special items that complete a space: an heirloom-quality keepsake, a funky foreign textile, a retro modern accent lamp, or go-to cozy rugs and blankets. It's the combination that makes it personal, and we fancy ourselves masters of the mix. We love the unusual and the storied: pieces that harken back to another time - items that say, "I've had a little adventure." We believe in a mix of high and low, and investment pieces that become those family favorites to be passed down for years to come.
