I had my rug professionally cleaned here and Im very impressed with the results. It came back extremely clean, fresh, and looking like new. You can tell they really know how to handle rugs with care.
I also purchased a rug as a gift for a friend, and their whole family loved it. The quality of their rugs is excellent, and they have some very beautiful and valuable pieces.

What a beautiful job! I just picked up my two sarouk. Kilims today. I took them in for cleaning and repair. Ally took such great care of them, by cleaning, restoring the fringed edges, and mending where there had been a few moth holes. If you care about your rugs, PLEASE speak with him before you talk to anyone else!

Ali is an honest, kind and experienced man. His knowledge of rugs is tremendous. And the love he has for his work shows with the individual care he gives each rug.
We brought in a small silk prayer rug from Istanbul that had a terrible patch of adhesive on it. (It may have been tar) Ali was able to remove the unknown substance and our rug looks good as new! I cannot see any remnant of where the problem was.
His prices are very reasonable, honest and transparent

If I could rate 10/5 stars, I would. I came to get two rugs cleaned because we have pets, and the rugs hadnt had a professional cleaning done since we bought them.
Ali was incredibly kind, personable, and also knows his rug information. Price was reasonable for two rugs, and the time from cleaning to pick up was very quick.
Will definitely be back for more when needed! Thank you!

This is an amazing company, they pick it up my three dirty rugs which were choven by dog. They did not only clean and remove the stain from my rug, they fixed several spots of my rugs free of charge. One of my rugs had lost tassels. They have added new tassels, again free of charge. Now my rugs look new again. They really saved my expensive rugs

I went to Bay Area rug cleaners to buy a new rug to decorate my apartment, and Ali, the owner, was very nice to me. He had a calm and quiet demeanor and was kind enough to let me look at a carpet in my apartment before deciding to purchase it. Ive since since stopped by sometimes just to chat and play backgammon, and Ive seen him do a lot of repair work as well, since thats mostly what people come in for. Cat urine, dog urine, pet stains, mold, small moth damage it was all fixed! Im surprised at how he was able to make all these rugs look brand new! I asked if he could teach me a couple things, to figure out how to tell the provenance of a rug, but, alas, he said that it takes years to learn, which to be fair Im sure is the case
Anyways, highly recommend its not a polished store where youll get the aura of an Apple Store, but youll get care and service which I think is the most important.

While we were looking for someone to clean our antique, valuable family heirloom oriental rug, We found Bay Area Rugs company... They cleaned our rug without damaging and they fixed some fringes which were missing and some other small moth eaten areas. (free of charge)
After talking to owner, we found out that the only professional oriental rug cleaning company is Bay Area Rugs company.
There are many carpet cleaners and they clean oriental rugs as well but they are not professional at cleaning oriental rugs. They are professional at cleaning wall-to-wall carpet and upholstery.
I thought I should write this review to help consumers like myself who needs to have their valuable oriental rugs cleaned by a professional.

I wanted to find out about a rug I recently purchased it's age, quality, knots per square inch and how to clean it. My friend was once an employee of Ali's and recommended I go to Bay area rug cleaners. Ali greeted us with a welcoming smile and treated me like We had been life long friends, very sincere, honest, and informative. He doesn't tell you what you want to hear but gives you honest and non biest solutions on how to fix, clean and restore your rug back to it's best tip top condition possible. His knowledge comes from hands on experience from cleaning thousands of rugs over the years. He taught me that every rug is different and are made with different materials. It's important to know what the rug is made from either silk wool or synthetic material etc. The before and after results from his rug cleaning really impressed me. Thank God I didn't attempt to continue cleaning my rug at home I would have destroyed it. He tests for color bleeding before hand and knows what cleaning solutions will tackle or correct any problem area on your rug. He also told me where my rug was made, the tribe that made it and the materials used to make it and how old it was. Thanks Ali for being so sweet and informative, you have taught me to appreciate the art and history of my handmade Persian Rugs. You are the best!!!

The owner of this company is a perssian. I will call him Rug doctor because he knows Rug so well. He checked all of the issues a rug may have before he start cleaning them. He fixes the rugs free before cleaning.
He has a passion for handmade oriental rugs. He knows how to do remove stains and any kind of odor. He wouldnt clean a rug if he doesnt believe that it is a valuable rug. An amazing cleaning company.

Wow! A great rug cleaning center! This place (just relocated to a huge cleaning place) is specialized in hand washing and green cleaning. It's cleaning method is deep and thorough, yet particularly safe for fine rugs, treating each fine rug like a piece of art works. I was fully satisfied for the result. Recommended to my friends who were also happy with the results. If you wish to preserve your fine rugs for a lifetime, this is absolutely the right place. Surprisingly, the price is also the best in the bay Area.

A few weeks ago I came home and discovered a huge stain on my favorite white sheepskin rug. My cat urinated on it and I really didnt think we would be able to get the smell out. I contacted five rug repair shops and after sending pictures of the rug all five of them rejected the work and some didnt even respond back. Art responded almost immediately via Yelp and said I could bring it in. His hours were really flexible too so that helped allot!
Art examined the rug, leather and stain throughly and discussed the chemical free process he uses and how it might take awhile. Over messaging, and again in person, he warned me how the leather might not be the same smooth texture after the wash, which I was okay.
We got it back in about a week and the rug was fluffier than ever! It was pretty and white and the smell was entirely removed! I could also tell there were no harsh bleaching b/c Im allergic to bleach and harsh chemicals and I didnt have any reactions when transporting the rug back.
