Sealing air leaks in your home is a simple, cost-effective way to lower heating and cooling costs, increase comfort, and create a healthier indoor environment. Air sealing reduces the movement of air between the inside of your home and the outdoors through gaps, cracks, and penetrations you may never see. These penetrations exist around plumbing pipes, electrical runs, HVAC systems and the "top plates" of your interior and exterior walls. At FLC, we include extensive testing of the ductwork in your home during our energy audits and evaluations. Similar to the blower door test, we use a fan and air pressure gauge, along with sophisticated software to measure the rate of air leaking from your ducts.
