A native of Raleigh, Alan attended East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and earned his Bachelor of Science in the School of Construction Management, Class of 1986. His love for building and carpentry led to the start of his first company, Blankenship & Mussler with his construction partner and good friend Kevin Mussler in 1989. As President, Alan was in charge of overseeing purchasing, architecture, sales, contracting, construction and team management. Blankenship adds, "We strive to adapt quickly to new trends in architecture and design, so that we are able to integrate them into our new projects according to client directives and interests."
