I began working for WaterWorks Pools and Spas in 2007 to help manage the business. Waterworks was just a seasonal company at that time so I ventured to another position in sales always knowing in my heart that I eventually would work for WaterWorks again. Sure enough in January 2012 Eric Prince, Owner and Operator of WaterWorks hired me to manage the store and sell! Eric also happens to be my brother! WaterWorks is more than just a swimming pool company. We purchased a home that has a pool from Waterworks. The pool is not even two years old and has had several issues. Waterworks will not stand behind the three year warranty because we are not the original purchaser of the pool. We have had to go through a separately purchased home warranty to get a few items fixed. However, one of the main concerns is a rusting ladder that is very unsightly. It is either defective in craftsmanship or it was not made for a salt water pool. Waterworks has no interest in correcting this issue and a home warranty will not cover such. There has been lots of miscommunicatio n between the Sumter and Florence office as well. I was given bad information on how to winterize the pool by an employee at the Florence office. I ended up spending much more than needed due to her advice. When the company did come out one time to look at a faulty salt cell, the technician cleaned the cell and then dumped all the chemicals into the lawn. The grass was fried and never returned to green last summer. It was extremely irresponsible and no one wanted to take ownership of it or correct the problem. I see that they get lots of great reviews but based on my experience; I absolutely could not recommend them.
I would highly recommend Waterworks Pools and Spa's. We just had an in-ground pool installed and was highly impressed with the installers and staff. All were very friendly and professional in all dealings that I had throughout the whole process. Eric always keeps me informed along the way and the installation was great! Looking forward to many more years of great service from Waterworks Pools and Spas.
Waterworks did a very nice custom install of a gunite pool for me and the staff has been very helpful and considerate as we continue to use the service to maintain the pool. The install crew was terrific and always went above and beyond to make sure the install went smoothly. I overall would recommend Waterworks for either service or an installation of a new pool.
