Acid washing is the preferred method for removing stains from plaster and Pebbletec pool surfaces. The process involves draining the water and applying an acid-based cleaning solution that is scrubbed on to achieve the best result. Acid is a dangerous substance. Pool company personnel are specially trained in its application and wear protective clothing and breathing apparatus during the acid wash. It is not recommended doing an acid wash on your own.
