Your basement may just seem like a space in your home that floods often, and you really have no intentions of ever finishing it or using it for anything special. However, regardless of what you choose to do with your basement, you need to be sure that it's in good condition. We want to assist you with reclaiming this area to help make the most out of your home investment - which is likely the biggest investment you'll make during your lifetime.

Foundation repair is easy for the experts at The Basement Doctor. We have seen it all when it comes to sinking homes, bowed basement walls, leaky wall cracks, and so on. Regardless of how minor or severe the foundation problem may seem to you, you need to get it taken care of before it gets worse - and it will get worse! What a lot of homeowners don't understand is that structural damage isn't a problem that is going to eventually fix itself. Instead, it will get worse and it will eventually cause even more damage for you to worry about having fixed, such as floor cracks, and leaks over the top of the foundation itself.

This type of home insulation has become very popular lately due to its fast and easy installation, and because of its energy efficiency. This insulation also has nearly twice the R-value per square inch when compared with traditional fiberglass insulating materials. What's so great about this insulation is that it provides total protection in the walls and floors of your home. It will seal air gaps, making it impossible for conditioned air from inside your home to get out. This will cause your HVAC systems to work a lot less since they won't need to make up for the air loss to help keep your family comfortable.

Basement egress windows must be added to this area of your home if you are thinking about finishing it. Local building codes state that egress windows must be installed to provide an easy way out of the basement in case an emergency crops up. For example, if there is a fire on the first floor of your home and you are in the basement, the safest way out for you will be out of the window. These windows will also allow in a lot of natural light during the day. This means that you can save a fortune on energy bills each month since you won't have to use so many lights in this area of your home to stop it from looking so dim.

The Basement Doctor can provide you with professional crawl space encapsulation and repair. Many times, we have homeowners who call us and want to know what can be done to fix the leaks and mold growth below their home. While these problems can certainly be alarming, there is a simple solution that we can offer that doesn't cost a small fortune. Crawl space encapsulation involves sealing this area off from the outside environment so that moisture and high levels of humidity can't get inside and cause problems.

This is a 20 mil crawl space vapor barrier that will be attached to the walls and floors underneath your home. It can also be used inside basements with a dirt floor, or in basements that on't have even walls or floors. After it's installed, the liner will be able to stop water from getting into the home, and this includes moisture which may try to seep up through dort or concrete floors. The liner can be installed together with a crawl space vent or door, and this will add extra protection against outside moisture and humidity which may try to get inside.

The CleanSpace wall system is often used in crawl space environments with dirt floors. However, it can also be used in basements that have stone foundation walls. These walls are not perfectly flat, meaning other wall systems, such as BrightWall paneling cannot be used with them. This wall liner system can quickly be installed and will be able to drain water away from your basement walls into a special interior drainage system that is already put in place. Once the water gets into this system, it will be directed into the sump pump and then out and away from the home where it can't cause any damage.

Had a window well filling with rain water called basement Dr out was told they could fix it then when I called back to have job done the whole story changed! I wouldn't recommend them to anybody!

So, decided to have crawlspace done. No major problems, just wanted a more energy saving home. Since the work was done I have had water in my crawl. Alarm goes off so I am trying to crawl in with two bad knees to shut it off. They have been here twice and guessing about problem. Now I have to wait a week for someone to come out again. For the amount of money this costs I am VERY unhappy!
