Since our establishment in 1915, Sussel has set the standard for quality, integrity, and innovation for residential construction throughout the Twin Cities metro area. For over a century, our team has carried on these same founding principles. While we are widely recognized for being Minnesota's most trusted garage builder (we've built more garages than all of our competitors combined), we're just as highly regarded for the quality homes and additions we've designed and built over the years. As a family-owned business, we've always prided ourselves with the fact that we are an integral part of the community we live in as well as serve.

How many times have you hired a garage builder? Probably not many, if ever! Odds are that this is the first and last time you will have this work done, so it's important to have all the necessary information to make the right decision. Few homeowners know much about garage construction or garage additions. Don't worry-we're here to help. At Sussel Garages, we believe learning a bit about garage construction is the best way to ensure you're making an informed decision before hiring a garage builder.

Since 1915, Sussel has built a reputation as Minnesota's most reputable garage builder. Check out reviews from our previous customers below, then give us a call when you're ready to get started on your project.

So you're getting ready to add a custom garage to your property? How exciting! But before you get the process started, it's important to know when and where garage-building mistakes usually occur. Understanding these mistakes will help you avoid complications and potential disappointments both during and after your build. Thinking about building a custom garage on your property? Then you probably have more than a few questions about the process. When it comes to building a new garage, there are a variety of options in terms of functional design, aesthetics, location, customizations, and more - all of which require careful planning.

Sussel has been Minnesota's leading builder since 1915. Our case studies offer examples of how we can build or transform a home or garage to meet any customer's unique specifications. Call us today for a free estimate on a new garage, home, addition, or exteriors - custom-designed with your choice of materials, colors, and styles! When you first bought your home, it most likely met your needs, but time and your needs can change things. At some point after purchasing a home, many homeowners find they require more living space.

The cement driveway cracked significantly after about 6 months. I called to see if they would replace the cracked section, and they said a vehicle heavier than a pick up truck must have driven on it - that the cement is not rated for more than a pick up truck. They also said I should have more cement poured adjacent to the driveway to protect the slab. When I asked why they didn't suggest that during the project, they said they try to keep cement work to a minimum to keep cost down. So, in summary: cement work will not hold anything larger than a pick up truck, and cement will be poured in a way leaving it vulnerable cracking.

What's new?

We are getting ready for the Minneapolis Home and Garden show. It's March 2-6 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Hope to see ya there! =)
