Questions
What areas do you serve for window and door restoration?
We serve the immediate East Bay including Alameda, Oakland, Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito, and surrounding neighborhoods. We do not service SF, Marin, or Peninsula areas.
Why choose restoration over replacement for historic windows?
Restoration preserves architectural integrity while improving energy efficiency at a lower environmental cost than replacement. Properly restored historic wood windows can last 80+ years with proper maintenance.
What materials do you use for replacements?
We use premium vertical grain douglas fir and genuine mahogany for custom replacements, matching original materials' durability and aesthetic qualities while avoiding inferior vinyl or aluminum alternatives.
How long does the restoration process take?
Single window restorations typically take one day. Entry door projects require two days minimum. Custom replacements may take longer depending on complexity and production schedules.
Are estimates included in the final cost?
Our $100 on-site estimate fee is fully applied to your deposit if you proceed with the project, making the assessment effectively free when services are contracted.
