It began with two friends who decided to venture out and start their own business doing what had brought them together as friends - working in the flooring industry. In March of 1964, Richard Fink and Calvin Ford started F&F Floor Covering & Carpet as a partnership, working out of Decatur installing carpet, vinyl and hardwood. After years of hard work, in 1987 they were able to purchase a store front in McDonough, Georgia, and a showroom was set up where customers could come and shop for their flooring.

What's all the fuss about vinyl flooring lately? One probably thinks dull, drab and boring as you conger up images of that vinyl flooring of yesteryear. But the lifeless gold or dingy orange and brown square patterns from your grandmother's kitchen are no longer. Technology has improved over the years and the vinyl flooring of today is far from lifeless. Thanks to breakthroughs in manufacturing and design, it has been replaced with a more resilient, luxury vinyl flooring that has quickly become all the rage.

Luxury vinyl plank flooring is considered by many to be the perfect blend of style and functionality. Current styles by major manufacturers have never look better and more realistic. Luxury vinyl planks also offer in many cases a more durable and tougher floor than other options such as hardwood and laminate, especially when it comes to handling scratches and water issues. If you are one of the many consumers considering luxury vinyl wood looking planks, there are several things you will need to know when choosing your floor.

There is a lot more to picking out a carpet that you might realize, but carpet retailers are here to help. From the fiber to the cut, style and color there are an enormous variety of carpets to choose from for almost every conceivable purpose. Carpeting is manufactured for indoor or outdoor use, there are even carpet squares that are affixed a lot like vinyl flooring tiles. New materials and techniques have sped up the process and made the carpets of today more durable to stand up to the wear and tear of the modern world.
