The Insulation Man service territory has grown over the years and we perform work within 80 miles of our home office in Binghamton, NY. I realized the first winter that I spent in my new home in Vestal New York that the insulation was insufficient. The house never had a warm comfortable feeling. The Insulation Man, LLC holds valued relationships with some of the most reputable HVAC contractors in the Southern Tier. These contractors, and their commitment to providing quality products and professional installation, stand directly in-line with our company philosophy. Our home energy auditors, and home energy assessors, document HVAC issues or concerns that are observed during their inspections. This information can then be relayed to the HVAC contractor to schedule an appointment, or estimate.

Retrofitting a home or business with upgraded insulation is among the most cost effective buildling improvements one can make. Whether your building has existing insulation or not, all too often existing insulation has either settled over time, was improperly installed to begin with, or is simply insufficient in terms of R-value for maximum thermal resistance and energy performance. We offer a number of insulation retrofit services including attic insulation, wall insulation, and basement enclosures (which include air sealing and insulation).

Air sealing, believe it or not, is one of the most cost effective energy efficiency improvements a building can undergo. Equally important, a lack of air sealing can greatly reduce the R-value effectiveness of any insulation that is installed. Every time we install insulation, we work to ensure that air leaks are sealed. This includes utility penetrations, cracks and gaps, seams between building materials, leaks around windows and doors, recessed lighting and ceiling fans, and anywhere else that air may be able to leak through the a building's thermal envelope.
