Before 1986, RDS was known as MINCO, and provided radon testing for mines and uranium exploration during the 1960s and 1970s. In the mid 80s, after elevated levels of radon gas were discovered in private residential homes, MINCO began to offer private radon testing and changed its name to Radon Detection Systems (RDS). At the time, RDS was the only company providing residential and commercial radon testing. In 1986, we began providing our nation-wide radon inspection services to the corporate relocation industry.

Because everyone reacts differently to mold, the only answer we can give is "it all depends on the occupant's sensitivity or allergy to mold." Often time people react to even small amounts of mold and others could be living in a home with black mold throughout their basement and not have any immediate reactions to it. One thing for sure is that children can be more susceptible to the effects of mold exposure. There are several methods of mold testing, but the two most common are viable (live spores) and non-viable testing.

Asbestos is a naturally-occurring mineral fiber used in building construction for its strength, fire resistance, and insulation properties.
