Conventional water heaters heat a tankful of water, usually 30, 40 or 50 gallons, and keep it heated so that when you wash your hands, start the shower or turn on your washing machine hot water is there almost immediately. This convenience has a price, however: A lot of energy is wasted when water is kept hot while nobody is home or when everyone is sleeping. It is similar to leaving your car idling in case someone needs to go somewhere, or having a fresh pot of hot coffee available around the clock, in case someone wants a cup.
Hydro Jetting, high pressure cleaning or water blasting is the use of water propelled at high speeds to remove build up and debris in tanks and lines. By focusing and pressurizing the water stream, the force generated can clean even the most severe of blockages. Take caution in having a hydro jetter run through your old drain line, sometimes hydro jetting can blow out a hole in an old line.
