AETech Electrical Training Center is located in the Beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, serving the electrical training needs of electricians in Wyoming (WY), Montana (MT), Nebraska (NE), and (SD) South Dakota, among other many states. In this site you will find information on the variety of educational courses that we offer for the electrical trade. We provide a 4-month Apprentice training program that can be taken as a Electrical Apprenticeship educational course or as a source of education for a working apprentice.
Steve Arne has worked as an electrician, electrical contractor, and electrical instructor for 40 years. Nineteen years of his career were spent as a teacher and department head in post-secondary education. Since Steve retired from Western Dakota Tech in 2003, he has provided industry-direct training specializing in continuing education Electrical Code classes and Electrician Exam Preparation classes for Journeyman and Master's level exams. In 2012, Steve and Deb's son Ryan returned to Rapid City SD to help Steve expand his training business at AETech Electrical Training Center to include a 640 hour full-time day-time Apprentice Electrician Training Program, as an alter native to 2-year Technical School programs.
We understand that not every individual has a schedule or the resources to attend a two year Technical School. So we designed a full-time day-time program that allows you to spend your entire day studying the topics that are of interest to you and will speed you toward your goal of employment in an interesting, great-paying career as an electrician. We spend the full day on the technical topics necessary to your success and do not require you to spend any time repeating General Education Classes similar to what you have probably taken in the past.
Our 5 Day Exam Prep Course for Journeymen and Contractors includes a 2-day National Electrical Code Review pre-session class to help you brush up on some of the common installation requirements and recent Code changes. Then the next 3-day class is our Exam Prep Calculations Workshop. If you are preparing to take a licensing exam, this course will help you fine tune your understanding of the code calculations and tables and get ready for a passing score on your exam. We use the Electrician's Exam Preparation text book by Mike Holt as the guide and format for this class.
