Frischhertz is one of the largest electrical contractors in the Greater New Orleans region, serving clients across the Gulf South, but we trace our origins back to a two-desk office space in Mid-City, New Orleans. Our headquarters now encompass nearly an entire city block in our original Mid-City neighborhood. In 1951, Bernard C. Frischhertz, Sr., an experienced electrician at Avondale Shipyards, decided to go into business for himself. His two brothers invested and helped out part time. Eventually, Bernard hired his daughter Joan to handle the bookkeeping and manage the office.

Frischhertz is a member of Electric Roundtable. This exclusive national group consists of eleven electrical contractors across the U.S. - many of who are also family owned and operated, who strive to be the best of class in their markets, and who are committed to driving industry progress and innovation. The Roundtable allows us to discuss best practices, industry trends, and cutting-edge strategies with our peers, thereby helping Frischhertz to maintain our role as an industry leader. Membership in this group provides the opportunity to joint venture with fellow members when it is advantageous to the customer; for example, two of our most notable local joint venture projects, University Medical Center and the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport North Terminal, included partnerships with Cleveland Electric (Atlanta, Georgia) and ERMCO, Inc. (Indianapolis, Indiana).
