The Beautification and Energy Efficiency Board identifies and makes recommendations to the City Council concerning affordable strategies associated with conservation, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. The board's duties include: develop an environmental sustainability plan for city operations with a goal of achieving 100% clean energy by 2035; assess and track implementation of the plan and provide an annual report to the City Council on same; and review ordinances and policies that have an environmental impact on the city.
