Watkins Nurseries specializes in custom Landscape and Hardscape Designs with over 70 years combined landscape designer experience. Additionally, as one of Virginia's earliest tree farms, we are a wholesaler of trees, plant materials, mulch, soils, and aggregate. Our landscape department can accommodate complete residential and commercial design and installation projects, as well as, horticultural consultation and planning. We offer personalized service and a creative approach to meet your unique landscape needs.

We are a wholesale and retail tree nursery, plant center, and landscape design firm established in 1876. While we do have several farms across the central Virginia area, our office is located in Midlothian, Virginia, just west of Richmond. Our company specializes in field-grown trees and shrubs that we produce on over 500 acres of farm land. We grow a wide selection of deciduous shade trees, ornamental trees, and evergreens that we dig and ship to our customers up and down the east coast throughout the year.

In addition to our commercial landscaping services, Watkins Nurseries, Inc. has been bringing nature to life in homes around Central Virginia for over 140 years. We design and install quality landscapes mostly with plants that are grown locally on our farms. All landscape designs have various goals to be achieved. We offer customized residential & commercial landscape design services as well as delivery of our bulk materials! Our landscape and delivery departments offer expertise and quality service. We have all the bulk and plant materials you need for your next project. Whether you are a landscape contractor planting and mulching an entire apartment complex or a homeowner planting some shrubs in your garden, we have what you need! We specialize in quality, field-grown, landscape size nursery stock. We have deciduous shade trees, evergreen trees, and ornamental trees and shrubs in our fields that we dig and ship year round. We have a fully stocked plant center at our office location. We have a wide selection of container trees, shrubs, and perennials in our five full-size greenhouses.

Our field-grown nursery stock is grown, maintained, and dug with care. We utilize drip irrigation in our fields to ensure a healthy product. Due to the nature of central Virginia soil, the root balls on trees of landscape size are very heavy. If you need more information about tree sizes, root ball sizes, and pickup/delivery options, please give us a call! With three farms across the central Virginia area, we do our best to ensure a one week order fulfillment policy. However, several tree varieties cannot be dug at different points in the year.
