Native Landscapes

Over the last years Native Landscapes has established itself as a leading landscape architecture design & build practice within the Wilmington, North Carolina region. With a multi-disciplinary approach to comprehensive and complex design issues, Native Landscapes has extensive experience in residential & commercial applications. My wife and I did not care for our original landscape, so we decided to take it all down to dirt and start over. After talking with David and seeing some of the designs he had created and installed, we knew that we wanted Native Landscapes to do our project.

At Native Landscapes we reject the use of elements typically found in superficial landscapes which at best deliver short term curb appeal only to be rendered unsuitable with time. Landscapes should reflect permanence and style, seamlessly joining the house and garden together. When a garden is thoroughly planned, well-designed and can be realistically maintained, it will endure. David Donohue is a Landscape Architect and the owner Native Landscapes Inc. He brings a distinct philosophy to the drafting table.

We take pride in our ability to implement elegant residential projects from conception to completion with unmatched quality control and scheduling management. This only comes with experience, and we have decades of it. The process of landscape design has become increasingly complex as our expectations for our yards have changed over time. Entertainment areas, kitchens, pools, hot tubs, and fireplaces all are becoming common features in fine landscapes. Other challenges to creating elegant yet functional landscapes include restrictive zoning and neighborhood covenants, multi-car families on diminishing lot sizes, and carving out discrete utility spaces.
