There is a huge misunderstanding in the planting world that you can't plant in the summer. It seems like after Memorial Day, the planting deadline has arrived and the frantic run for planting flowers, trees and shrubs comes to almost dead stop. I am not sure why this old wives' tale has managed to survive over my lifetime and probably well before me. It was explained to me by my dad, Bob Romence, that 100 years ago or so, there were nurseries but no container stock. Things were dug up from the ground and transplanted from the nursery to the new home.
Cedar mulch is over priced. $50 a yard, really! KLS landscape sells for $32. Would not recommend.

I was warmly greated by a sweet cashier when I walked in. I was looking for hostasso she radioed someone to come and assist me. Upon my surprise the owner himself took me back to the hosta green house on a golf cart and helped me pick out the perfect variety! He went above and beyond to make sure I was completely satisfied! They even loaded the mulch~ it was a pleasant surprise! I will be back to purchase the rest of my flowers and shrubs for the summer
Yesssss! It's hellebore season! If these beauties bloomed in any other season, I don't know if they would get gardeners as excited. They are shy, hanging pretty faces down towards the soil. But because they pop up at the end of winter through early spring, they signal the season change that is on...
