As we embark on our fifth season, we reflect with gratitude at all of the support we have experienced, and look back in wonder at all we have accomplished. We had a wonderful year in 2018, and look forward to expanding our landscaping services even more this year with the addition of another landscape designer and crew. We have a diverse collection of high quality plants that will provide color around your home or business all year long. Second Nature at Reads Creek is a destination garden center & greenhouse in the making.

In 2014 the idyllic Reads Creek property was purchased with big dreams, an open mind and above all a deep rooted desire to share this stunning place with others in the community. The progression of farmstead, to Arboretum, to retail nursery has been a fitting narrative for a place anchored in natural beauty and steeped in a tradition of botanical bounty. Owners David and Jen Tubbin relish the occasion to write that next chapter in the story that is Reads Creek. Combining several successful business endeavors (in the past a thriving landscape company and currently an artful and inspirational home dcor business), with the golden-ticket opportunity that the scenic setting of Reads Creek offers.

Our talented designers work with both hand drawn and computerized design plans, allowing you to see everything on paper or walk through your simulated yard and experience the feel of the design before a single plant goes in the ground. Whether you are looking for softscaping or hardscaping, we can help you get the perfect design to match your home, sun exposure and soil type.

These guys worked all week in the rain to get our landscaping phase 1 completed. It looks absolutely amazing! I was blown away by just how great.

What a wonderful little garden and gift place. On our way back from Sparta (the long way), I love to stop and shop!

Thank you very much for answering my million questions and being so helpful. Also, cool shop! We will be back!

What's new?

With the expected heat wave this week, today would be a great day to get out there and trim up your fruit trees before they start to make buds. The end of winter is a great time to prune because the cuts will heal more quickly as the spring growth surge arrives, and there is less risk of infection.

Nothing says spring like a forecast with 30 degree weather and a semi load of potting soil! We can't wait to get our hands in the soil and feel that warm spring sunshine.

We are grateful, blessed, and slightly overwhelmed by the work requests you've made of our landscaping division! We continue to grow our team carefully and strategically so that we serve you well.
