I had a leak in my AC system. Although the technician was very nice & professional, I found their service to be extremely expensive. They charged $440 to locate a leak they thought "might" take up to 4 hours. They located the obvious leak in about 20 minutes, yet still charged the $440. To replace the coil was $5,000 plus and to replace the unit itself $10,000 was the quote. The technician also said I was down about 4 pounds of refrigerant and they charge $100 per pound of refrigerant. I don't know how he could determine I was down that much without weighing the amount of refrigerant he would actually put into the system.
