In the spring of 1998, Island Curbing was started at the request of ONE potential customer. I was approached by a retired gentleman who was frustrated with the problems associated with the "black rubber/vinyl edging". He had recently visited family in the Salt Lake City area and was impressed with the concrete edging so popular there. After many weeks of researching equipment and the potential product market in central Nebraska, the equipment purchase was made and Island Curbing started doing business.

Slope Edge is the most popular and commonly used edging profile. Texturing is applied to this profile to enhance the appearance and compliment your landscaping. Mower Edge is the original edging profile and is still used in many yards today. Mower edge can be textured however it is not recommended. When viewed from the sidewalk or street the texturing only appears in a small portion of the surface and doesn't usually give the desired appearance. Border edge is not traditionally used for planting beds or around a house because it is not as mower friendly as Slope Edge or Mower Edge.

What's new?

The weather finally cooperated, and we were able to set up a new bench at Lion's Club Park. The Lion's Club donated this bench overlooking the new playground. We were happy to be a part of the project.
