The Rock Garden offers unique natural stone and natural stone products to landscape contractors, architects, builders, and homeowners. We mine beautiful Colorado stone only a few miles from Fort Collins, and carve it for you in a variety of shapes, from landscape boulders and stone veneers, to custom stone fountains and specialty rock art. The Rock Garden is not only a feat of rock grandeur, it's also a park-like oasis of inspiration. We don't charge admission. Housed at the northern point of Old Town Fort Collins, The Rock Garden's stone oasis is located on the corner of North College Avenue and Spaulding Lane, just before Terry Lake Road.

We want our visitors to be inspired, feel comfortable and learn about innovative uses of local stone. Natural stone from our quarries includes Brownstone, Watermark Buff, Cherokee, Aspen and Sunrise Sandstones. Because we market our stone in house, we assure you high quality and short lead times. In the spirit of creative accomplishment, we continue to seek innovative approaches for the use and appreciation of natural stone. Our Team has expert knowledge of our products and will politely show you our extensive displays.

While the general definition of the term ‘ashlar' varies somewhat within the stone mason community, in our case it refers to stone veneer that has been sawn along the top and bottom edges, and adheres to a 2:1 ratio pattern. One of the four major types of sandstone from The Rock Garden quarries. Brownstone is characterized by brown to black exterior and light brown to gray interior colors. Sheared veneer cut in random pieces ranging from 8 to 15 inches that display a wide variation of naturally complementing colors.

We are exceptionally proud to mine our unique stone from our quarry located just eight miles away in Laporte, Colorado. It brings a whole new meaning to ‘shop local'!
