We reduce water use with turf reduction, efficient irrigation systems, and drought-tolerant plants. We reduce maintenance needs with appropriate plants for site conditions, an emphasis on materials and plants that require little maintenance. We help build and invigorate soil to encourage a flourishing diverse ecosystem underground, to enhance plant health at the surface. We use local products that both blend with the natural environment and reduce trucking costs to the environment. We encourage and incorporate fruit and vegetable production to reduce food transportation costs, improve the health of the users, and connect the users with the natural environment and their food source.

Plant selection, density, and grouping play important roles, and the key is proper design. Understanding factors such as Climate, soils, exposures, User needs, and expectations, latest available equipment, among others must be considered to ensure an efficient, successful irrigation system. We hold the CLCA Water Management Certification, and the Irrigation Association Irrigation Auditor certification, and are widely known on the Central Coast as landscape water conservation experts. We integrate irrigation considerations into all aspects of our landscape designs, applying the axiom that "Form Follows Function", and on the water-strapped Central Coast of California, good water conservation is imperative.

The Maintenance Division at Madrone Landscapes focuses on building relationships with clients through good communication. Just as every garden is different, every client has their own unique expectations for their garden and how they work with us. In the garden, our staff is trained to be detail oriented - focusing on plant health, aesthetics, and the effective use of water. We offer weekly gardening services for residential clients in North San Luis Obispo County and estate maintenance for the broader San Luis Obispo County, Northern Santa Barbara County, and Southern Monterey County.

Our Construction Division employs multiple project managers who are able to take on projects large and small, with over 100 years of experience combined. We have specialists in masonry, carpentry, irrigation, grading, planting, and drainage available to tackle any challenge, and we utilize a network of great subcontractors to get even more done in a short period of time. We have multiple heavy-duty trucks, tractors, trenchers, power tools, and specialty equipment to get work done effectively. Our Construction projects are scheduled months into the future: ensuring that when we start a project, it is well planned and that we finish it quickly and professionally.
