Locally owned since 1985, we've grown up and learned our lessons right here in the Yakima Valley. That experience has taught us what it takes to properly maintain a healthy, beautiful landscape in Central Washington's climate. More importantly, we're continuing to learn what it takes to satisfy our customers. Our promise to you is that we'll make every effort to see that your experience with us is a pleasant one. As a company that takes care of your landscape, you can count on us to apply the correct fertilizer and pest control products at the right time.
Established in 1985, Green Baron is locally grown. We're founded on two primary objectives, to provide high quality landscape maintenance products and services, and to do it with an emphasis on customer service. There are a lot of landscape service companies out there, some of them good at what they do, but the one thing we guarantee is that nobody tries harder than us. Our service philosophy doesn't include disposable customers. We want your business for life and we know the only way to get that is to earn it each time we work for you.
Whether you need a service or two to help out with your landscape care, or a complete service program to handle all your landscape maintenance, at home or business, we can do that or anything in between. For years we've been working with businesses and home owners to come up with just the right plan for their landscape's needs and budget. We'll meet with you, listen to what you have to say, look things over, make suggestions and come back with a detailed plan and costs. Please review our service categories, both commercial and residential, and see which ones might be right for your home and/or business needs.
Customer service is a big deal. Here are a couple scenarios I think are worth taking note of, and certainly remembering if you are looking for lawn and irrigation service. We have had yard service with Green Baron for quite a few years, but over the last couple years the service has declined dramatically. We have seen certain employees come and go, and unfortunately it always seemed like those who treated us the best were the ones to leave. This year, when our water was turned on, Green Baron did not fully perform the service (but they did fully charge us). That meant that we were left with a number of sprinklers that needed to be changed (which I ended up doing myself), and one section of the yard that has continuously leaked. After leaving messages for the technician with no return call, I finally was able to get a hold of him to explain that I needed this taken care of, and that it was starting to leak into my basement. The response was "well, I can't get to you until next week." Seems like if you don't fully do the job the first time, the customer should take priority over new work, right? Not so much. After several very rude conversations with several employees, we ended up without any solutions. That ended in us discontinuing service with Green Baron. However, there was a young man named Matt who left the company last year that we were able to track down. He is not even working in lawn and irrigation anymore, but was so kind to come over and inspect what was taking place and help us find a solution. He got up early and stopped by our house before going to work at his new job where he is a tech for Starbucks, servicing a very large part of the region. Refused to take payment for helping us find out what was wrong with the system. Most likely we will be utilizing a handyman service that he is recommending, and as soon as we have more information, we'll DEFINITELY be recommending his services. Customer service is not about policy. It's about the position of your internal sense of right and wrong, and ethics. There was no policy in place for Matt to do what he did, no manager telling him to make this right. He owed us nothing, while Green Baron owed us a lot. If small business in our city is going to grow, we've got to understand the difference, and find more employees and employers like Matt who are committed - not based on the paycheck, but on the integrity of their own lives.
Unfortunately, we will be switching service after a number of years with Green Baron. If you pay for a service, the customer should be priority no matter how long it takes. If you don't do what you were paid to do, you make it right - every time! Green Baron is obviously leaning heavily on the fact that they are controlling a large portion of this market in Yakima. But if they continue to operate with this level of lacking integrity, there are plenty of smaller businesses who are putting the customer first who will rise to take their place.
Called them out to cut 4 large fruit trees in my yard. Matt and his crew did a fantastic job and left my yard looking great. Very happy and would call them again if I needed another tree removed!
Looking for a few good people. Spray technicians (preferably licensed but will train). Miscellaneous positions also. You must come into our office and apply....good driving record and attendance are desired.
