Since 1980, CHELP in Decatur, IL has offered private home care and house cleaning services. In addition to that, CHELP is the adult protective service agency for Macon and Dewitt Counties. CHELP is a non-profit agency that serves people from ages 18-59 with a disability and people over the age of 60 in the Macon County area. The purpose of CHELP is to stabilize, maintain, and improve the home environment of the residents of Macon County by means of education and direct social services. Specific goals include providing the education and assistance necessary to enable seniors, disabled, or individuals in emergency situations to maintain themselves in their own homes so as to prevent either short or long term institutionalization.
