The quality of the furniture is sub par and not worth the money. The only thing worse than their furniture is their customer service who refuse to address the issues with the poor craftsmanship. Unwilling to take responsibility for their own product. I would not recommend buying anything from them. We have bought a couch, loveseat and two leather chairs, had issues with all of it.
Our family had a wonderful experience with them when finding new bedroom furniture for our sons. A designer came in to help and went above and beyond in finding bunk beds and additional pieces to match a dresser I wanted to keep with the room. Our boys have loved sleeping in their new room!
I received a call last week from our Sale Rep from the Lincolnshire location after multiple left message I was finally able to reach him today only for him to tell us that our order placed 5 weeks ago is under audit. He proceeded to tell me that he under sold us our couch by $10,000.00 and that the Brothers graciously agreed to split the difference with us. The couch we purchased was $6,850.00, under sold by 146%, how is that even possible? He told me that the fine print on back side of the sales agreement states that prices can change, I do not have the back side of the paperwork because it was emailed to me and never hand delivered as promised by our Sales Rep. Once you agree on a price and give your deposit both parties should honor the agreement. For the last 5 weeks I have been under the impression that my couch was in production and that I only had 5 more weeks until I would get the call for delivery. This is terrible way to do business. I would never recommend Walter E Smithe to anyone nor would I ever shop here again. A local owned family business that prides itself on good ethics is all smoke and mirrors.
