At Barnhill Chimney, we strive to offer quality service and workmanship that provides our customers with warmth, comfort, and peace of mind. We are a local, family-owned company, and we pride ourselves on treating your family's home as we would treat ours. We measure our success by your satisfaction and in our ability to make long-lasting, positive contributions to your homes, your families and our community. It's a good idea to have your fireplace and chimney inspected (and swept, if necessary) annually to make sure they are as safe as they can possibly be.
The chimney sweep profession is not regulated by the federal government or the state of Kentucky. It is easy for someone to go buy a couple of brushes and a vacuum cleaner and call themselves a chimney sweep. Chimney sweeps certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) are educated, tested thoroughly, and held to high ethical standards. Please visit the Institute's website to learn more about why you should always use a CSIA certified chimney sweep. We are accredited by the Better Business Bureau.
Barnhill Chimney sweeps have more than 30 years of collective experience with chimneys - and we do it all! From traditional "open" fireplaces to old fashioned coal burning fireplaces; from wood stove inserts to shallow "Rumford" fireplaces; from gas logs to professional pizza ovens. Whatever your chimney system, we can help you keep it in top condition. Our inspections are based on the National Fire Protection Agency 211 code requirements. We've found all sorts of things in chimneys, from broken soda bottles to angry raccoons, and we are happy to remove bird nesting and animal debris (except for nesting chimney swifts), and even the occasional live animal.
Kentucky's infamous, heavy winter rains and multiple freeze-thaw cycles can deteriorate chimneys and result in leaks that damage your roof and even home interiors. Barnhill Chimney doesn't just clean chimneys. If needed, we repair, construct and rebuild them, too! We provide a full repertoire of chimney repair options, including liners, caps, chase covers, dampers, masonry repair, tuckpointing and parging. Over time, water "eats" masonry chimneys. Mortar joints between bricks are dissolved; bricks are slowly broken apart by water moving inside the brick.
