I was extremely impressed with the skill and care with which Paul handled my deck project. The work was immaculate and far exceeded the work of other companies who had previously worked on the staining of my deck. Paul was efficient, timely and competitively priced. I am happy to endorse his work. As a customer of Details Carpentry and Remodeling, I can say I would highly recommend Paul for deck staining. He did a very professional job on our deck and it looks great. He was very helpful with product and color selection.

There are several ways to coat your garage floor to make it look and feel like a more livable space. Garage floor paint- Is the most inexpensive way to color the floor but cant stand up to car tires like epoxy can. However, laying strips of carpet can be used under tires to prevent paint peeling over time. Paint generally comes in grey-blue or brown. Garage floor epoxy- Is more expensive than floor paint but stands up over time. It is critical to have the floor acid etched to remove oils and built-up grime, then washed and cleaned thoroughly to have epoxy take properly!

When remodeling your basement, it is essential to keep the warm air out, cool air in and if they meet, moisture buildup occurs. What happens next is a moisture problem that is very difficult to remedy without tearing down walls and repairwork. These types of costly mistakes can be avoided by using proper materials and methods of installation when building your basement wall. We take your remodel very seriously and through years of experience, use the best materials that are suited for the job. Sometimes this can mean something as trivial as the type of tape being used after your drywall installation to avoid long term cracks.

We have determined how to stain a deck the right way. We prepare properly by cleaning with a powerwasher (using the widest fan and hopefully some experience so we don't scratch the surface) and clean the deck with a non-abrasive product that won't harm our perennials. Then we stain with the best stain/sealer we can find. The best type of sealer to use on decking is an oil stain (but cannot be used over a solid as stain will not adhere properly.) We only use the best proven stains available and when we use our methodical approach to cleaning, we have fantastic results.

Pretty recently, right?.and yet a lot of people will wait until it is too late to clean the exterior of their home, driveway or porch. Removing mold and algae will prevent your family from getting sick and stop costly repairs that would otherwise be inevitable. Your home is your most valued assett, why not treat it as such.

After years of wear and tear on their fireplace, the customers decided to have the old tile, hearth and mantel removed. They chose a simple 6 by 6 inch tile and custom made mantel. The dental trim was a nice touch.

This is a larger sized basement which was completely remodeled by Details Carpentry and Remodeling with the exception of the carpet. We installed an open bar (at left) and an opening in the wall to copy a stand-up bar area (on right). The ductwork was cleverly hidden (pic on right) so as to resemble a design with lighting. Of course, the room was finished off nicely with our specialty, crown molding. In the pictures above, we removed the wall to open the area and added a handrail and spindles. For the flooring material, we used 1/4 " thick by 18" wide vinyl which can withstand a lot of traffic by the back entry door.
