Pouring a new concrete floor as part of a complete remodel of a building for Indian Bible College in Flagstaff. These 1/2" thick steel plates were installed along with huge bolts to the heavy beam trusses in the City of Flagstaff Council chambers in order to repair trusses that were failing due to poor design by the "other guys". City hall was open when we welded the brackets in place. We had to provide not only fire protection but also needed to exhaust the welding fumes to the exterior of the building.
This style of handrail has the spindles ending on a Redwood 2'x4' about 3.5 above the deck surface. This can be useful for shoveling snow if the rail is located in a high traffic area. However this style is not as strong as the handrail pictured below. This style of handrail is made of Redwood and the spindles continue down on to the Rim Joist of the deck. This is our preferred method of handrail installation as it provides the maximum strength. If you are thinking about replacing your existing deck boards with composite decking (Trex), remember that Trex requires 16 on center framing.
We offer heavy duty snow-blowing and shoveling of driveways, sidewalks and decks. Snow blowing is preferred over snow-plowing because it is lower impact, resulting in less chance of damage to surfaces and landscaping. It is highly recommended to call for snow removal BEFORE a big storm - we operate on a first come, first serve basis! For guaranteed snow removal service, consider an annual contract. We will come remove the snow when it reaches a certain depth. Flagstaff City Code (8-03-001-0004).Any such person who fails to remove the snow, ice, or other obstruction from the sidewalks as promptly as reasonably possible, but in any event no later than twenty-four (24) hours after the accumulation of snow and ice, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
This custom deck cover was built by our carpentry crew from Glu-Lam beams and custom made 1/4 steel brackets. This deck cover included attaching the new structure to the existing house, installing 3-way lighting and a new 50 year roof over the entire house and garage. Special thanks to Aaron G. at Nitro Electric for creating the brackets out of raw steel plate and for the custom lighting work! Highwood Construction re-built this redwood patio cover in Forest Highlands. We used select grade redwood to improve the quality and appearance over the original design.

One of my favorite parts of this kitchen remodel was the installation of an 220v Teppanyaki grill in the peninsula. This kitchen remodel started with new granite countertops and a granite undermount sink and an oil rubbed bronze pull out faucet.
For exterior repainting, we pressure wash first and then scrape off any remaining loose paint. After that we apply primer to any exposed wood. Next, we caulk extensively around doors, windows and trim to help your home become more energy efficient. Finally we apply the top coats of paint, protecting areas by properly masking and covering as needed. This house in Flagstaff with T-111 siding required several gallons of XIM Peel-Bond primer to restore the condition of the siding, before the top-coats of Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint were applied.
